Lesly’s Song Choice For The Bomb

With this book being about this race between the U.S and the Soviet union in trying to build an atomic bomb, It made me think of this song by Kate Bush I once heard in a movie about Nuclear war. The song is called Breathing and it in a way describes the effects of a nuclear fallout and I think it’s just a powerful song once you hear it.

Here are the lyrics

Outside
Gets inside, ooh-ooh-ooh
Through her skin
I’ve been out before, but this time it’s much safer in

Last night
In the sky, ooh-ooh-ooh
Such a bright light
My radar send me danger
But my instincts tell me to
Keep breathing

Out, in, out, in, out, in
Breathing
Breathing my mother in
Breathing my beloved in
Breathing, breathing her nicotine
Breathing
Breathing the fall-out in, out in, out in, out in, out in

We’ve lost our chance
We’re the first and last, ooh-ooh-ooh
After the blast
Chips of plutonium are twinkling in every lung

I love my beloved, ooh-ooh-ooh
All and everywhere
Only the fools blew it
You and me knew life itself is breathing
Out, in, out, in, out, in

Breathing
Breathing my mother in
Breathing my beloved in
Breathing, breathing her nicotine, breathing
Breathing the fall-out in, out in, out in, out in, out in
Out in, out in, out in, out
Out, out, out, out

Oh, please
(What are we going to do without?)
Oh, let me breathe
(What are we going to do without?)
Quick, breathe in deep
(We are all going to die without)

Oh, leave me something to breathe
(What are we going to do without?)
Oh, leave me something to breathe
(We are all going to die without?)
Oh God, please leave us something to breathe
(What are we going to do without?)
Oh, life is

Lesly’s Questions and Quotations for Feed

  1. What role does commercialism play in the novel? and perhaps how does it affect the characters?
  2. What could be the meaning of the last lines of the book “Everything must go” ?

3. After reading the book have your opinions on your technological use changed at all?

      4.     Feed is taking place in a future time when most Americans get their news, entertainment, and shopping tips from electronic transmitters implanted into their brains. In what ways are current technologies similar to the feed? How are they different?

Quotations

“Everything I think of when I think of really living, living to the full – all my ideas are just the opening credits of sitcoms. See what I mean? My idea of life, it’s what happens when they’re rolling the credits. My god. What am I, without the feed? It’s all from the feed credits”

“Feeling Blue? Then dress Blue! It’s the Blue-Jean Warehouse’s Final Sales Event! Stock is just Flying off the shelves at prices so low you won’t believe your feed!  Everything must go!”

Song Blog Post For The Poet X

The song that I chose for the Poet X is the song ” I Could Fall In Love” By Selena. The reason that I chose this song is because I feel like it can relate to Aman and Xiomara’s relationship, Xiomara met someone who actually listens to her poetry and really cares for her. And even though they had their tribulations at the end Aman showed that he does truly cares for Xiomara. Here are the lyrics to the song

I could lose my heart tonight
If you don’t turn and walk away
‘Cause the way I feel I might
Lose control and let you stay

‘Cause I could take you in my arms
And never let go

I could fall in love (in love) with you
I could fall in love (in love) with you (with you baby)

I can only wonder how
Touching you would make me feel
But if I take that chance right now
Tomorrow will you want me still? (baby, will you want me?)

So I should keep this to myself
And never let you know

I could fall in love (in love) with you
(I could fall in love with you)
I could fall in love (in love) with you (with you baby)

And I know it’s not right
And I guess I should try to do what I should do
But I could fall in love, fall in love with you
I could fall in love with you

Siempre estoy soñando en ti
Besando mis labios, acariciando mi piel
Abrazándome con ansias locas
Imaginando que me amas
Como yo podía amar a ti

So I should keep this to myself
And never let you know

I could fall in love (in love) with you
(I could fall in love with you)
I could fall in love (in love) with you (with you baby)

I could fall in love (fall in love)
I could fall in love (fall in love)
With you (you baby)

I could fall, fall in love (in love) with you (I could fall in love with you)

Blogging Assignment # 2

The song I chose is Childish Gambino’s This is America this song talks about the gun violence situation that is happening currently in America which could be seen in the Hate U give in which Khalil and Natasha both die at the hands of a gun. Not only that but it speaks on the high mass shootings happening , as well as social issues that can be correlated to the historically systematic discrimination and racism that has happened in our history , The music video alone is a powerful statement to everything that has occurred over the years in America.

Here are the lyrics to the song ,

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go, go away
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go, go away
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go, go away
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go, go away
